Old Road Games — Terms and Conditions

1. Using Old Road Games

These terms cover the Old Road Games website, its shared account services, and games offered through it, including Victoriae Veteres, Last Lantern, and future Old Road games. These are independent projects built in spare time for personal, non-commercial entertainment. Each game may publish additional gameplay rules or feature requirements. Features, artwork, rules, and availability may change as the projects develop.

2. Your shared account and Alias

Your email is your login across the games in the same environment. Keep your password private and your account information accurate. Your Alias is your public name across these games and may identify you in future leaderboards. It must be unique without regard to letter case. Change it only through the Old Road account page, at most once every 24 hours; previous aliases stay reserved to you. An Alias change does not create a new account. Test and production accounts, permissions, and cloud data are separate.

3. Access levels and individual games

New self-service accounts receive Basic access. Member and Admin permissions are assigned by the project owner; your account page shows your current level. Each game separately decides which features are available for each level and enforces its own requirements. A permission level does not guarantee that every game has cloud saves, statistics, campaigns, or any other particular feature. Admin is an administrative role, not a membership that users can grant themselves.

4. Saves, progress, and account data

Local saves live in the browser and may be lost if browser storage is cleared, the device changes, or storage fails. Cloud saving is available only where a game explicitly offers it and your account has the required access. Last Lantern currently saves locally; do not assume that logging in uploads its progress. Keep a backup or export of important saves where the game supports it. Online account and cloud records are associated with your stable account identity, not ownership of an Alias. No save service is a guaranteed backup.

5. Responsible use and availability

Do not impersonate other people, misuse another account, disrupt the services, bypass access controls, or use the services to harass other players. The games and online services are provided as available and may have bugs, downtime, or compatibility limits. Uninterrupted service and recovery of lost data cannot be guaranteed. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or protections that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

6. Memberships and optional support

Creating an account does not purchase a membership or automatically activate Member access. No payment or automatic membership activation is currently connected. If paid memberships or optional support are introduced, the price, included features, renewal and cancellation terms, and payment provider terms will be shown before payment. Supporting a project does not purchase its intellectual property and is not represented as a tax-deductible charitable donation.

7. Project materials and contributions

Project materials include original human-created work, AI-assisted materials, and public-domain or transformed historical references. Do not submit material you lack permission to share. Any separate contribution or licensing terms should be stated when contributions are requested; these terms do not assume an unrestricted license to everything a player submits.

8. Copyright and permitted use

Old Road Games and its games include code, artwork, audio, maps, text, characters, and interface designs owned by or licensed to the project where protected by applicable law. Except as allowed by law or a separate license, do not copy, rehost, redistribute, sell, or publish substantial portions without permission. Historical facts, public-domain materials, third-party licenses, and legal exceptions such as fair use retain their own status. AI involvement does not by itself establish copyright protection for an asset.

9. Updates and contact

These terms may be revised as Old Road Games develops. The date at the top shows when these terms were last updated. A revised notice is not a claim that an existing user has explicitly accepted new terms.
